  If you dislike the tax routine as much as I do, finding a competent professional to ease the pain is a good decision. This year, after filing taxes via my former accountant in OR, I decided I was being over-charged for the now simple report necessary for someone who no longer has two homes, a corporation, rentals, etc. I landed, via a friend's suggestion at LIBERTY TAX. There are several in the area but I chose the office at Power and Baseline (next to the Goodwill store).
  
  I am a happy girl! Business owner, Larry Bruce provided his extensive experience in tax preparation. He was patient, willing to explain as much or as little re each item (I'd, at least, kept pretty decent records). When I said "this is too much information; I don't care about this," he suggested I leave paperwork with him and I'd be called when forms were finished, ready for signing and filing electronically.
  
  True to his word I received a call in less than 2 hrs, returned to the office and agreed to review the form before signing. As it turned out I'd reported a false $1 credit card charge to my credit card company. They'd reported it to the IRS and I needed one more form (i didn't have) to file. Larry's wife/partner gave me specific, easy to understand instructions re how to get the information and after reporting it, I was done. Unlike former years I am receiving a significant rebate from the IRS Federal and State! That, in addition to the reasonable fee, made the process relatively painless.
  
  I heartily recommend Larry Bruce (and his wife, JC) if you're in a bind with taxes to be filed in a week.
  
  And, if you go in, let Larry know I referred their services as I promised I would.
